76th Remembrance of December 7, 1941 Attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii


NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI –Members of the North Kingstown Parades Committee, Members of the 88th Army Band, Families of Pearl Harbor Veterans, North Kingstown Post 152 Veterans of Foreign Wars, U. S. Naval Sea Cadets of North Kingstown, and residents of North Kingstown invite the public to attend a special 76th annual remembrance of those who died and were injured in the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This special event, one of hundreds that will be hosted nationally on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:30am to 11:30am at the Beechwood/North Kingstown Community Center located at 30 Beach Street, overlooking Narragansett Bay, in North Kingstown.

            A ceremony will begin at 10:30 am at the North Kingstown Community Center with the singing of the national anthem, a flag raising, and prayers for those who were lost during the attack on December 7, 1941.  Family members of Pearl Harbor veterans will have an opportunity to share the name and service branch of their loved one.  The program will conclude with a wreath-laying ceremony.

Members of the North Kingstown Parades Committee will host a 76th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, December 7, 2017 to honor the American men and women who were serving in Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.    

This public salute will be held from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.  Please join us in remembering all who served in our Armed Forces on this day, 76 years ago. Veterans and their families are encouraged to bring photos and other memorabilia to the Community Center to share with attendees. If you have a loved one that served during this time, we would also invite you to share the person’s name, rank, and service branch.
