The Code Enforcement department provides access to information and answers to questions that pertain to the Building Code, the Housing and Occupancy Code, and Zoning & Ordinance Enforcement. We've provided a number of resources here to help answer questions, report & resolve problems, and to list the services that we provide.
To safeguard the health, welfare and quality of life within our community through the administration and enforcement of codes and regulations. To eliminate the uncaring, adversarial stereotype image that plagues so many regulatory agencies. To create a friendly atmosphere, and to provide customers with guidance for the resolution of problems and assistance through a process that at times may appear complicated and confusing.
Code Enforcement Office Goals
The Code Enforcement office goals for the fiscal year are to develop an interdepartmental electronic permit review process in order to expedite the permitting process. The department will also look to expand upon our ability to electronically track scheduled inspections and violations. We will also provide in the fiscal year public access and more effective means for the distribution of information regarding permit records and building codes through the expansion of our electronic library and database. This will implement the State Building Code, MED (Model Energy Code) Check data program.
